Geely Unveils COOLRAY L: Pre-Sale Starts at 90,000 Yuan, Official Launch Set for November
On November 18, 2024, Geely officially announced the pre-sale prices for its new subcompact SUV, the COOLRAY L. Two variants were introduced, priced between 90,000 and 97,000 yuan. Powered by a 1.5T turbocharged engine paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, the COOLRAY L also features a 14.6-inch central control screen. The vehicle is expected to hit the market later in November 2024.
According to a release on November 25, Geely will host the COOLRAY Family Million Users Night and COOLRAY L Launch Event in Chengdu on November 27.
On March 25, 2025, Geely launched the 2025 COOLRAY L Beyond Edition, offering upgraded features and performance.
Power & Performance
Under the hood, the COOLRAY L is equipped with a 1.5TD turbocharged engine delivering a maximum output of 133 kW and peak torque of 290 Nm. Mated to a 7-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox, the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds, with a combined fuel consumption of 6.35 L/100 km, based on official figures.
Exterior Design
Building upon the design of the current COOLRAY COOL, the COOLRAY L features a refreshed front fascia with a bold, horizontally-stretched grille that enhances the vehicle’s dynamic and upscale look. On the sides, multi-spoke alloy wheels complement the sporty appearance, with red brake calipers added to high-end trims. The rear continues with a quad-exit exhaust setup, underlining its athletic character.
The Beyond Edition retains a large horizontal grille and traditional door handles. A larger rear spoiler, inspired by the COOLRAY COOL Champion Edition, has been added. It rides on 17-inch wheels, with the top trim featuring 18-inch alloys.
Interior & Features
Inside, the COOLRAY L embraces modern design trends with a compact digital instrument cluster paired with a large 14.6-inch infotainment display. The system is powered by the E02 high-performance chip and runs Geely’s latest smart operating system.
