The Geely Galaxy E5—also known internationally as the Geely EX5 and in Malaysia as the Proton e.MAS 7—is a next-generation all-electric compact crossover SUV that embodies intelligent performance, advanced technology, and a global perspective. First unveiled in May 2024, the Galaxy E5 is the second EV under Geely’s premium Galaxy lineup, following the Galaxy E8 sedan.
The Galaxy E5 is the first model built on Geely’s GEA (Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture)—a forward-thinking platform derived from the proven Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA). It integrates modular flexibility, superior energy efficiency, and advanced digitalization, laying the foundation for global electrified mobility.
Engineered with global ambitions, the Galaxy E5 was developed simultaneously in both left- and right-hand drive, ensuring streamlined international distribution. Co-developed with Malaysian automaker Proton, the model is locally branded as the e.MAS 7, showcasing a collaborative design effort involving over 230 Proton engineers and designers. This global development strategy not only accelerates time-to-market but also enhances platform synergy and production efficiency.
Designed to rival class leaders like the BYD Yuan Plus / Atto 3, the Galaxy E5 offers a larger footprint, more refined aerodynamics (Cd 0.269), and a futuristic design that captures the spirit of intelligent luxury. The interior features Geely’s Flyme Auto infotainment system—co-developed with Meizu—powered by a cutting-edge Dragon Eagle-1 SoC (7nm process), delivering ultra-smooth interaction and immersive Flyme Sound audio experience.
